An urgent AMBER Alert has been activated for Christopher Cooper, a 2yearold boy, following his reported abduction. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office issued the alert after Cooper was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The child was believed to be traveling southbound on Interstate 55 near Kentwood, Louisiana, in a white 2011 GMC Yukon.

The Louisiana State Police (LSP) was notified of the situation and issued the AMBER Alert at approximately 10:45 p.m. Authorities are on the lookout for James Mercier, who is suspected to be with Cooper. They were last seen in the said vehicle, which carries the Mississippi license plate PJT070.

  • Christopher Cooper: A lightskinned Black male, with brown eyes, short black hair, measuring 3 feet 2 inches in height and weighing about 4050 pounds. He was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, and blue Crocs shoes at the time of his disappearance.
  • James Mercier: A white male, with brown eyes and brown hair, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. Mercier was last seen wearing black pants and was shirtless, although he had a white or gray shirt with him.
